I suggest that everyone put Mars on ignore by marking him as an enemy (I am told that is how it is done) and see what % of the posts here at the Corner disappear. It will make it much easier for you to see what others think. I learned a long time ago, that MARS is opinionated and has a narrow range of opinions and attacks anyone that disagrees with his assessment of things. Brief enough Mars?



BTW: In he Honolulu papers today, minor mention of Schwenke was made in articles listing the status of all local recruits. No flap whatsoever about Bronco pulling his scholarship other than mentioning that it was pulled. No flap about Kona's integrity being called into question or an ugly side to BYU. Pretty low key considering how hated BYU once was here. Schwenke was quoted as choosing betwen UW and ND and said that he probably won't commit on Wednesday - so that he can trip to UW when the quiet period ends this weekend. Maybe the fact that ND got at least 3 other commits last weekend and the postings didn't even mention Schwenke slowed him down. Maybe he just likes trips. Maybe he really still wants to go to BYU and first has to wait and see if Heimuli or someone else Bronco offered the schollie to signs before making his decision. I don't know. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Hopefully some of you will find this to be useful information - and hopefuly all of the other noise surrounding this topic won't drown out the information. Brief enough Mars?



For the record: I graduated from BYU with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Accounting in 1972 before completing my MBA at Utah in 1974. I am thus old - and experience has made me realistic and at times, cynical - too realistic for those who see the world through blue goggles. I grew up in Utah, attended Provo and Wasatch HIgh Schools, lived in Chicago twice and all over Southern California and now live in Hawaii. I am not a TROLL. I like Utah. But make no doubt about it - I love BYU.

So MARS shall I start breaking each 15 line post into 100 shorter ones? My suggestion to you would be that until you think of something youhaven't repeated 100 times and it isn't just demonizing someone you don't agree with (lots of those people apparently) just shut up!



Who moderates MARS?

AAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnd.....I'm going to lock this one down. Sorry McGregor...it was a great thread until it devolved, but I think everyone has made it pretty clear where they stand on Schwenke, and it has devolved into the Fanatics calling Fans trolls and vice-versa.



Guys, just realize that there are differing levels of fandom, and live with it. There are some who toe the company line and what ever comes out of BYU is gospel. Then there are those who are more cynical and pessimistic. Pessimism isn't trolling though. Trolling is when the primary purpose is to sow seeds of discontent and raise hackles (or sell shoes), which I haven't seen here.



What we have here are two posters on opposite ends of the spectrum who just happen to be stubborn as well--just like me. Agree to disagree and move on. And Cougarbib2, if you really want us to believe you have Mars on your enemy list, you would do well to stop quoting the posts you wouldn't be able to see were it so.



You disagree. That's it. If you can't debate points, just agree to disagree and move on. If you think someone is a troll, there is a report button at the top of every post to bring your concern to the moderators' collective attention. I think you'll all agree we have done a pretty good job at quickly (and quietly) eliminating trolls thus far. I can tell you that Bib has never logged on with an IP or email address used by previous known/banned trolls. Neither has Mars. Just trust us to separate wheat from the chaff.



Don't kill what are otherwise good threads with your posturing and accusations.
