I've actually been wondering the same thing...

Reviewing the "facts":



1- Clem claims to be an old-timer from the former board. Yet there was no user under that name at Cougarblue: http://www.cougarblue.com/forums/memberlist.php?sk=a&sd=a&first_char=c&start=300

2- Clem states that he was once cut from a BYU sports team. Hmm...

3- Clem states that he is good friends with Gordon Monson.

4- Clem's few posts on this board include a heated race debate about Austin Collie, a heated argument about how doctors screwed up Jimmer Fredette, and multiple multiple posts attacking Bronco for somehow wronging Kona Schwenke.

5- Most of his posts about BYU seem to come with a negative spin, such as the "wet blanket" post about how BYU isn't a very good 12th-ranked basketball team.



Interesting so far..... :bug:

its easy for small minded people who ascribe to herd mentality as you do Mars,to resort to ad hominim attacks on people when they don't see eye to eye with you.must be painful to go through life with the disabilities you're clinging onto,i do feel sorry for you.ya,when people bring up the viscous attacks you levelled on one of our own,that would be Austin Collie,the best way to deal with the situation is go into attack mode and question the person's loyalty.it's an old ploy Mars and it won't work.

by the way Mars,what BYU sports teams did you try ouf/get cut from?gave it a shot,couldnt make it,not trying to hide it.did you learn your tactics from J. Edgar Hoover?don't answer the question about AC,just smear the person and make him go away,good strategy.i'm really through with your tactics,stew by yourself.

Clem, I don't mean to take sides on the issue, but the fact that you use poor spacing, grammar, punctuation, etc. may contribute to Mars's suspicion, since most of the trolls over on CB had the same problem. Perhaps if you simply told us your old moniker from CB a childish argument could be avoided.

I just reviewed the Honolulu Advertiser (1/29/10) regarding KS and found the following:



"Kahuku All-State defensive lineman Kona Schwen-ke, who earlier verbally committed to Brigham Young, is taking recruiting trips to Notre Dame and Washington this weekend, his father, McKay Schwen-ke, said yesterday.



While taking trips after verbally committing would constitute a "soft verbal," it's not in Schwenke's case. McKay Schwenke said BYU coaches said if his son took the trips this weekend, it would revoke its offer. He understands and accepts the consequences, he added.



"Some schools frown on that, kids taking other visits (after verbally committing)," McKay Schwenke said.



Kona/McKay knew that if he went on the ND and UW trips, his scholarship would be revoked. Therefore, he was not 100% committed to BYU.



Clearly, Bronco made the correct choice given the circumstances.

It's really amazing to me that clem and others are still trying to use the argument that we don't have enough info to make a judgement (by the way, I'm probably as old as clem). While it is very true that we can't ever really know what's in his heart, it is equally true that we KNOW that he had been shopping for some time, and that he wasn't surprised on the tarmack by Bronco's ultimatum. QUIT VILLANIZING BRONCO!

Clemdiggitydog1, there is a lot of interesting information here, particularly when hawkwing's admonition is adhered to. The board would be well served by sticking to issues, not making those who post an issue.



However, this board is populated by a number of myopic, tunnel-visioned individuals wearing nearly opaque blue goggles and marching in lockstep. They engage in ad hominem attacks and label anyone whose perspective differs from theirs an idiot, a troll, or worse. They discount anything people like you have to say simply because of the label they have affixed to you. This assumes they see it at all, since many of them block posts from those who see the world differently.



Keep visiting, sift through the chaff for the wheat, post when you feel you have something to add, and, unfortunately, wait for the attacks.

I'm not one of those that have called out clem (aside from his somewhat questionable medical assessment of Jimmer Fredette, given that he said he was a physician, and should have seen the timeline on Jimmer's diagnosis as completely reasonable as about any primary care physician would have; there's a difference between theoretical medicine and actual practice)

But,

I do think it's fair to ask, since he brought up that he was on cougarblue, what his name was there... there have been some consistencies (and inconsistencies) in Clems posts (and not always lucid posting style) to make those that have attacked him fairly question his intentions and origin.



if you recall: the former rustyshackledford, and steed both came onto the former forum as wolves in sheeps clothing and eventually couldn't help but out themselves, even after denial after denial.



It would be different if it were just Mars calling you out; that's a daily occurance here, and almost a badge of honor. But it's other longtime respected posters now questioning who you are and where you came from. That certainly is a fair question to ask given the fact that you offered revelations such as your past anonymous cougarblue patronage.



Remember one of the biggest reasons for the evolution of cougar corner was the disintegration of cougarblue (the daily herald botched that one big time) and the complete lack of oversight by the supposed mods there (or the sunday school teacher method that some of them attempted to moderate).



It's one thing to have a differing opinion on an issue; it's another to have a secret agenda, and that's what is being questioned. I think the reluctance to state who you were on the previous forum has now left doubt of that agenda.

If you find a request to keep the focus on the content of the post, rather than who posts, is unreasonable, then label me a foe. If you feel that when you disagree with something that has been posted that it is appropriate to merely attach a pejorative label to the person who posted, rather than responding to the substance of their post, then label us foes and hope no one you have not labeled as a foe quotes us. That way you will never have to endure anything I, or anyone you view similarly, has to say.

I disagree with your assessment of "many on this site," and I voiced my disagreement. If you were trying to keep to the topic then you did a piss poor job of it. I simply suggest that if you wish to drone on with the same drivel that we heard from so many trolls on CB, that you stay there, instead of throwing that same pity party for yourself here when most people disagree with you. I will add you as a foe because your rhetoric is old hat and that's the reason I started posting here in the first place.
