"Tyler's actually doing better today. His eye is kinda opened up a bit more and I think his vision is getting better. Hopefully we can just get that swelling down and we can get him back out there and start playing for us."

That doesn't sound like "good to go" to me. That sounds like "hopeful to practice a little bit sometime soon". Big difference.

Well, again, this isn't like, oh, mono or a scoped knee or appendicitis, or something that's keeping him from actually getting out and running. That's the killer coming back from an injury, it takes some time getting your body used to getting up and down the court. Luckily, Tyler doesn't have that problem. He can see just fine, he just can't shoot. As soon as the eye opens up, he'll for all intents and purposes be back to 100%.

It's no secrect that the Gators are a distant second in my fan book. I will be rooting for BYU all the way. And I have to say, I have tried to watch some Gator basketball games this year, and they were just unwatchable. They have played some ugly ball with poor shot selection. My only concern is that Florida is a very physical team that can grind it out. They have seven wins in conference by 10 points or less to BYU's two wins by 10 points or less. BYU tends to win the games with big leads--not the grind it out games. BYU is 3-4 in conference games decided by 10 points or less. Their average margin of victory out of conference is 23.8 points a game, and 14 points per game in conference. Their average loss margin is only 6.8 points, which is comparable to Florida's 6.5 per game.

These stats show good news and bad news. The good news is that BYU does not get blown out, and when they win, they usually win big. The bad news is that Florida does not get blown out either, and BYU is not as experienced in the grind it out games that usually occur in NCAA tournaments.

To go far in this tournament, BYU is going to have to run the lesser teams off the court instead of playing down to the competition, and catch a few lucky breaks against the good teams that play it close.

BYU has been extremely entertaining to watch because of their fluid, fast paced game where scoring comes in bunches, and the great defense that sets up that scoring. If they win this one, that will make me one :) . If they win the next one, I will be :D . If they win the one after that, look out    .

Oh, I was also disappointed with the seed, but making lemonade out of lemons, Oklahoma City is much closer for us than it is for Gainesville, and if we manage to pull the upset on K-State, playing in Salt Lake City gives us one heck of an advantage.

Yeah, all it is is a broken bone. No big deal. Skull fractures are easy to bounce back from a week later.

If you disagree and you're gonna be a smartass about it, at least come up with something to refute the point. No, he's likely not doing his usual practice regimen (shooting, contact, etc) but it's not an injury he has to stay off his feet for. He can stay in game shape throughout the next week. That's was my point, and I could be wrong but I thought I spelled it out pretty clear.

We're going to need Haws back for the tourney.

When you factor in that Tav has taken the 2nd most shots on the team this year, and % wise, he is the WORST shooter on the team, yeah, we need Haws back. We need Haws back to spread the floor and get some shots Tav normally takes. He is streaky, and when he gets hot is great, but he is not hot enough. His 43% FG says so. We need Haws back to open space for Jimmer and Emery. Because we play outside in, not inside out, so gotta have those perimeter guys playing well to win.

I'd agree. If playing a basketball game on Thursday is your goal, I'd take the "skull" fracture over a sprained ankle. Sounds like quazi motto will be good to go.

Uh, I don't mean to rain on your parade but the distance for both teams is virtually identical.

I thought it was much closer because it takes me ten hours to drive to Florida from my house, and another 12 from my house to Oklahoma City. I was wrong. It is not much farther, just about a push.

According to Map Quest, it is 1118 miles from Provo to Oklahoma City and 1122 miles from Gainesville to Oklahoma City. But that is driving. As the crow flies, I am guessing it is about equal.

Thanks for ruining one of my mental advantages. :sulk: How am I supposed to will BYU to victory now???
