Kyle is pretty darn paranoid about BYU though. I swear he could go 11-1 and if that one loss is to BYU he would consider it a lost season.

I could see being bitter over an 11-1 regular season that included a loss to Utah...just think, Utah giving us the one loss that keeps us out of a bcs game. It would be like losing to them 3-0....

Oh I agree and I can understand being bitter but notice I said "a lost season".

And you forgot to mention losing to them 3-0... in a blizzard ending our scoring streak. I was there in the south endzone...worst game of my life...not that I'm bitter...

I don't like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, I hate their fans, I hate everything.

I love this Cougar Sports Tweets gadget over there on the right!

According to "Harmonwrites" Whit was "concerned about the capacity he was there"

Referring to Jan being there of course. Then the PR guy took it upon himself to ask Jan to leave. Remember he is a "PR" guy as in Public Relations...

That quote leads me to believe that Whit was indeed concerned that Jan was a spy. Get over yourself Kyle, good grief!!

I wouldn't be so concerned about us stealing your plays, Kyle. I mean, we don't want to almost lose to New Mexico and Air Force. We'll leave that up to you guys.

Utah should have made the practice a closed practice if they were worried about certain people finding out about what they were doing. Isn't that the whole point of being able to hold "open" and "closed" practices?

Seems pretty hypocritical of KWhitt being a BYU guy himself. Utah should have never hired him under KWhitt's logic.

Thank you, I like the Cougar Tweets addition too.

What this all really means though is that the Utes ARE IN FACT using "media" to spy on the Cougars, probably Gunther among others. When a person is really paranoid about something it's typically because he himself is doing what he's paranoid about.

what type of top secret stuff were they doing at their first practice? It's not like we have all season long to study their plays and players.

Maybe they didn't want BYU to discover their top secret conditioning drills...rumor has it that Utah has been experimenting with a new drill that will increase a players speed, explosiveness and stamina. It's called wind sprints! Good thing they kicked Jan out before he was able to learn this technique and report it back to BYU!

Kyle didn't want us to learn that they don't streach before practice....

I was thinking this too. Paranoia has a root somewhere.

Bronco has never loved media practices and has reduced their scope considerably since he's been here but selecting people with ties to your rival and having them removed is...well. indicative.

Hawkwing, I like it. Nice psychological assessment. That or your mom, like mine, gave you the whole..."you are pointing your finger at him, but there are three pointing back at you" routine.

Nothing.

Said he was a little surprised but that he understood.

It turned out a lot like the Jake was trespassing story.

Unfortunately, I think this should have been a bigger story than the Jake "story." If Bronco had kicked out/dismissed or had his PR guy do so to a media member, it would have created a media frenzy.

I actually thought it would get more play on 1280 today. Kyle and Jan went on at 2 in place of Monson and they talked about it for about 5 minutes and that was it.

BTW, I think they said the fence and black tarp is up again this year.

It really was surprising how little play it got. When Boylen snapped on Monson, it was all they could talk about. When 1280 claimed Bronco "lied" over the Shiloah Teo dismissal, it was all they could talk about. When Max spouted off, it was all they could talk about. When Kyle dismisses one of their own reporters, all they could talk about was anything else.

That's because no one is interested in Utah's program. You have BYU fans who want to talk about BYU. Then you have Utah fans, who want to talk about BYU. So we dominate the airwaves as well as the field.

that makes perfect sense. utes would rather crack on BYU than talk about their team. Anyone hear the guest host 1280 had today? He said that if Utah ran the table, he wouldn't be surprised to see them play for the NC like Boise might. He also thought starting at 24 was way too low.

I wouldn't say that. There was plenty of PAC 10 talk for weeks.

Exactly. All of the Utah fans who can't manage to get excited about their own team can easily get very excited about USC and UCLA.
