Italics????

HB Arnett on Cougar Sportsline puts his reputation on the line also. He picks independence by September 1 and gives some very good arguments about it. He talks a lot about the Church's position and new hires at Deseret Management Corp, Deseret News and some other national and global moves being made by Church media groups. An interesting perspective. I think if it could get us some better opponents and better credibility without the conference baggage then go for it.

I know we're not gonna get a TV deal like Notre Dame, but in regards to the BCS, if we were to get the same deal as ND, then I say do it. ND's deal with the BCS is: if they finish in the top 8 they get an automatic BCS bowl bid. http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/bcs_selection_procedures.html



If this is about getting more in revenue, and improving our chances to play in a BCS game then it seems like a decent move to me. Of course, this all depends on if we can work out some annual series' with some top level teams. Also, even if we got a TV deal worth only 2 million a year, that's double what we're getting now.

Yeah some time back the WAC commish came out, quite randomly, and said that they would accept all other sports if BYU football went indy. And the MWC would be flat out stupid to let that happen and lose their top athletic program. BYU owns the MWC athletically and is their most marketable product.

Hey, I've made no guarantees on anything. For all I know, the original "source" could be cougarboard. I'm not claiming to be Holmoe's hunting partner or anything. But take it for what it's worth. I think this all beginning to look more and more likely.

the second line reminds me a bit of yourself. "Posting emotionally" - which explains why you are buddy-buddy with and complimentary towards a poster one moment, and then throwing childish insults at them the next ("emo boy," really? At least pick a good genre of music, I hate emo bands). You've received a good share of ridicule from other members for being like this before, I'm certainly not the first to point it out. Seriously man, do you have some sort of bipolar or anger disorder? You should try allowing people to have their own opinions, it will make you look more self-confident, and your wife won't have to ask people on the internet to be nicer to you.

This thread never acknowledged you, and there was nothing offensive about the information I shared. If you think BYU isn't going indy, just shut up and keep it to yourself. No need to jump on fellow BYU fans.

Aw, shucks. Although I feel I must point out that there was a time when that wasn't so. I vaguely remember some falling out regarding a Ben Criddle near-interception @ BC in '06. Man, that was a long time ago.

@Italics: We all know that you just overheard someone talking about this in the men's restroom, and this ONE TIME, it turned out to be right. ;) Even a broken clock is right twice a day, even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile, even a skinny, metrosexual kid who dislikes all Mormons in Utah overhears truths in the men's restroom once in his life (I made that last one up!)
