Why did anybody nobody ask about how much money the espn deal was for?

It was asked, just not answered directly

Because they knew they wouldn't get an answer. Deal between two private parties (i.e. no state schools involved), so the details will never see the light of day unless they go to court.

The only reason other TV deals get announced is because they know the details will come out anyway through a FOIA request through a state school who signed the agreement.

Am I understanding correctly that even games on espn will be on byutv at the same time?

also what espn is saying about getting big games in here in provo is music to my ears. this happened because of espn. did he just say washington in 2011?

I heard that too. I thought Washington had backed out of the rest of the games??

Thanks a lot sno for providing a play by play of the action.

What a day for BYU Sports. It will go down in history.

I can't say enough about the quality here. Very impressive that it is so much better then the mwc. I like how they explained that espn resolved every single problem the mwc raised for byu.

utah byu rivalry game on espn every year. sweet. I don't see the intensity of the rivalry dying down at all at this point, only increasing.

The funny thing is that the ONLY way UTAH gets this game on ESPN is because of BYU. Suck on that FrUte Cakes

[Sarcasm]So now after I spent all of those hours calling DirecTV telling them that I wanted the MTN, and finally got it, we are switching TV deals? Now do I need to start calling them again to get this "ESPN" channel on a decent package[/sarcasm]

Unfortunately we still have to deal with the MTN for another year

Yes, but I'm fairly certain it will be more painful to the Mtn and MWC each time byu is on than it will be for us to watch. But who knows, maybe they will break the schedule and block out our games.

This just might be the best year for a little less visibility. The new exposure will come just when BYU is showing the fruits of Bronco's labor.

I assume dropping them is a last resort because of Title IX crap.

Thanks for reminding us of this. Volleyball (mens')currently plays in the MPSF. I think this conference could also be a landing place for "homeless" sports. Excuse me if I'm repeating something already stated on the other thread.

Overall a lot to digest, but I think BYU sports will be OK. As a former member of the Swim and Dive team, I can say that even though there weren't a lot of "conference" meets, the conference championship meet really was a big deal for us, and I hope they can keep some sort of affiliation that will give the team that to look forward to. It isn't all about qualifying for Nationals.

It will be rebroadcst, along with a following summary at 6pm, on byutv for those that are asking. If you have a tv or dish plan with more than 13 channels, it is there somewhere. It was like channel 9304 for me on the basic package of dish network (something like that).

CAFB_04-12
looks like they're going to rebroadcast it in 30 minutes (7 pm MDT)

Another item. I read on cougar that the WCC fans support their conference OOC games. http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/message.html?id=5860828

We just got some more fans and it could help us in recruiting.
"Yep, one thing that is consensus in WCC, we all root for each other in nonconference. And now a football team to cheer on."
