Hall vs. Beck

Gotta say, Hall looks the smoothest, most in charge, and most poised of the Cardinals QB's. Time to cut the losses with Leinart and give Hall a spot on the roster; no doubt in my mind.

Yeah, getting love from coach:

"3 scoring drives, 3 scoring drives"

While giving repeated fives and a pat on the back.

Hall will see some reps during the regular season this year

Wow. Even if he doesn't come back in, what a great game for Max. I don't see how they leave him off the roster.

Wish Beck had had as good a game.

Equally as important...Skelton looks shaky out there. Those were a couple of sorry throws, PI aside.

The receiver didn't have a chance at that ball even without the PI. Way too low.

Seems like Beck is handing off a lot tonight.

Beck has already gotten paid twice... (if he finishes out his newest contract he'll have made over $10 mill in his career up to then)

Max is just fighting for a chance; the league min is $325k on the 53 man roster.

It was a win win tonight.

My guess is that the Cardinals are considering a bigger deal to lock up Hall for 4-5 years if they can move Leinart.

Right now, Max looks like a bargain at a 4 year $3 mill contract, which is what I think they'll offer him if they can move the USC gimp. He's a hometown boy, and I think his agent would have a hard time turning that down.

Beck threw a horrible pass there. nobody there except Arizona. Unfortunately a bad pass.

ugh. Hope that receiver was supposed to continue that route. Beck, not too impressive tonight.

His receiver came to a complete stop on the route, if he had kept running, the pass would have been perfectly placed to hit the receiver on the run.

Was the called route supposed to keep going or was it supposed to stop? Only the coaching staff will know.

It looked like the receiver just stopped running his route and watched the ball go by. It's always hard to know on apparent miscommunications whose fault it was.

Manase Tonga has a 32 yr touchdown reception tonight; I would love to see that highlight.

Hoke and Keisel got rested for the most part with Pittsburgh; they own their positions.

Bryan Kehl = 9 tackles.... :bug:

Pitta had 2 receptions

Dan Coats had one reception, but he's really their short yardage blocking TE and parttime fullback

Collie didnt' play, Indy rested their starters

Guys like Travis Bright, Dallas Reynolds and Rey Feinga trying to hold onto roster spots.

I didnt' see Todd Watkins

Poppinga didnt' play a ton (he's got his job)

Fahu Tahi has locked down his job

Is Ryan Denney still playing for Buffalo? (he's already had a long profitable career)

all in all solid night for BYU

At least on the plus side Skelton looks horrible. I really hope they stick Max back in on the next series.

The receiver stopped the route. What a horrible team. I'm just glad he got his contract signed.

Max on the other hand is taking advantage of his opp. Good on him.

Beck's intended receiver=another dropped ball. tough night.

That my friend sums up hall's byu career. he is good but sometimes throws into a crowd. will always be that way. put hall on a team that has a solid defense and he will be a good starting qb in the nfl.

Hall is a fearless competitor and it serves him well, particularly when he has talent around him. There aren't a lot of free agent qbs in the history of the NFL that have put on the type of show that he has this preseason.

Heck, even Peyton Manning and Brett Favre had big time interception issues when they started out in this league.

Hall right now is the anti-Leinart. Leinart is afraid on every throw; timid and with zero confidence. Max is playing like a 3-4 year vet with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd string guys that you can expect to make mistakes, yet he's still making plays.

I guess we know who's still quarterback U!!
