Haha... Mrs. Chambers -- You have a good sense of humor. Only a handful of people can handle your situation positively. Glad to know you're one of them.

Linette, it's good to hear from you. I haven't in a while (not paying enough attention). You have a great sense of humor and a pretty thick skin. I hear you're comming to town. WELCOME!!!, and I wish I could meet you, but I doubt that will happen. I hope we treat you to a big victory and a warm welcome. I'll be watching for you. :)

That was a sweet catch - too bad out of bounds. But I was ready to rip his head off after each of his 2 fumbles. Come on, Chambers, are we REALLY going to go through this again this year?

Wow! Tongue in cheek I hope????? Whew - throttle back.

Mama Chambers, if all football players had parents like you and Papa Chambers, the game would be a lot better.

I have held a family meeting with Mr. Chambers and have advised him that only the ref needs to pry the ball out of his cold dead hands! He then said mom!!!!!!!!!!! Sheesh why don't you suit up and take the freight train licks! I had to take a moment and realize ummm nope I am too cute and delicate of a flower to put on that stinky stuff! I always close my eyes when he is on the verge of the impact and have made an observation if there was some sort of obstacle in their way to buffer the hits I don't think he would be getting hit as hard.

But anywho I have been feverishly working on a design and patent for an antidrop handheld device for him, hope it will be before the season is over and in the process makes me a millionaire!!!!! Muah hahaha  Everyone knows how to reach me so when he single handedly all by himself takes the field and makes our entire team lose call me so I can give hima the biggest time out of his life!

Smooches all I hope this makes eveyone feel so much better to know that mama Chambers is on the case, lol!

P.S. May GOD ALWAYS proctect and bless my son and every player out there that suits up for the love of the game!

Luv ya

I love it when you post! The quality of young men that we have on our team is the reason I love BYU football and you are the reason for one of them. Oh and by the way, I loved the one handed twisting in mid air catch he made. I just wish it was in bounds. Now all we need to do is get those pretty boy QB's to throw catchable balls and we will be all set (TIC) ;)

Had a feeling we'd get a post from you! Always glad to hear from you. I hope our incessant babbling doesn't vex you or your son. We're just avid fans with too much time on our hands. Quality son you have there. Can't wait to see him run a return back for touchdown.

No worries! In this lifetime everyone sooner or later needs to have thick skin, I prefer sooner! As I have said in the past everyone is always entitled to their own opinion and views may they be right or wrong. Its upto the person on ther other end to decide for themselves if the words are worth getting stressed. No one is perfect only one person is and that is GOD, which by the way sent his son here who was talked about and crucified for our sins.

I have always told my children let people talk thats their right, but ummm sorry for this one its a doozie if they put their hands on you thats a whole different story. Words only hurt feelings sometimes your soul but you still get to live and enjoy another day that the Lord has made for us. He is the only one that we should ever prove our self worth to.

As long that you keep GOD 1st any and everything else is secondary. Its hard for these athletes not just my son to juggle life and all its struggles. Imagine this not only do you have to practice, have team meetings, plays to memorize, you have to hope and pray that what ever comes your way won't hurt too bad while at the same time you are trying to remember if you did your class assignments. It seems easy to see these young men just show up @ game time that we forget what their days & life entails.

Hey having me as a mom ain't no picnic I guess thats why he doesn't call or answer my calls lol! But its ok he knows mummy loves him she is just a nag, my calls always start with hey hope your doing great in school! Then my nonfootball knowledge kicks in and tells him what to do like I have any clue lol its a hoot I tell you.

But anywho enough preaching sorry if I have gone on & on. I appreciate each & every one who has nice & bad things to say it only makes my son that much stronger and appreciative of ALL his blessings.

Hey Linette, are you going to give him some of your special home cooking that will fuel him to return one for a touchdown? You are a cool mom!

Linette, as a former BYU athlete and student, and Latter-day Saint living in this crazy world, all I have to say about your post is AMEN! It's quite the feat balancing athletics, school, and being a good christian person!

Let the record show, Chambers only fumbled once. During, the second "fumble" on the punt return, the replay clearly showed that not only was the ball grounded before he lost control but so was his knee. The Chambers haters just seem to revel in any chance to pile on the kid... nothing I say is going to convince any of the haters. They've clearly made up their mind about certain players from their first impressions of them and refuse to accept new evidence that contradicts their negative view.
Reminds me of the hundreds of people who flock to this board to make fun of President Monson. I hate all of those Monson-haters! CougarCorner is full of them too!!

As for Chambers, he is definitely unique, and there are multiple things about his style that I truly love. For example:

1- He catches punts and kicks the same way he catches a ball thrown by the QB- Above his head, in both hands, arms straight out. Pretty funny, but why mess with your routine if it works?

2- Absolutely fearless. Not afraid of getting hit at all. Actually seems to enjoy contact.

3- Hates missing an opportunity to try to get a big gain. He would almost jump from the back of the endzone to pull down a ball to get a chance to return it. Of course, he let one go out the back against Washington to start at the 20, but it's a "warrior mentality" that I know his coaches dig.

What's the saying? "Hate the fumble, not the fumbler"? ;)
