how many times did Chambers get the ball

Collie OVER A 100 TIMES

Chambers UNDER 20 TIME

CAN SOMEONE SAY PAD STATS

Their avg yards per catch tell it all. And Collie was being gameplanned against, Chambers was just "some dude" he had the ability to be more surprising, but he is nowhere near the talent level of Austin Collie. That is why Collie is in the NFL on probably the best team, and Chambers won't even get drafted. You keep telling yourself that Chambers never got a chance, though. Even last year, when he was our #2 receiver, and McKay the #1 was hurt with a hamstring injury for a lot of the season, he still did nothing, averaging only 28 yards a game. He has done nothing to warrant all of the hype surrounding him, and all the trash he is talking.

This is my last post to you.

Chambers is very good. He makes mistakes but no more than anybody else. He gets more crap for them though because of his in your face attitude. Dissing on chambers as a returner is not smart. He almost always gets us in good field position. Riley and luigi had more fumbles in yesterdays game than chambers. Start heaps. He will win us more games than nelson and he fits byus strengths. It is clear that riley should not be byu's qb.

Heapas first string, lark second and riley a situational qb or convert him to safety. :) Enough oc bashing. He has been valuable for our team. While he hasn't become as great as many thought he was we have won moree games with him then we would without him

Yep. I'm all for giving the kid a chance, but 2 completions and one pic aren't exactly stellar numbers. People are acting like we would have won the game had Heaps been in, which, I'm sorry to say, is not the case.

+1 There was a lot more wrong w/ BYU's performance than Heaps not being in the game. I would think the Coaches will be burning the midnight oil - tonight - watching game film & figuring this thing out. We're not in Kansas anymore Toto!!

We're talking about the season and the future, not just the AFA game.

We're talking about everything - including figuring out the AFA debacle - and going forward for the rest of the season - it's all inclusive.

I like Chambers but he tends to make some bone-headed moves like yesterdays trying to pick up JJ fumble and run it into the endzone. You learn in Pee-wee league to always drop on the ball.

With all due respect, my son is a junior pee wee this year and won't move up to pee wee until 2012. He learned THAT as a mitey mite last year!

#1 I like Chambers. #2 Yes - He makes me wince w/ some drops & other things. #3 I think the Cougar Nation let out a collective groan yesterday when Oneal tried to pick up J.J.'s fumble & try to run it in. Good intentions - not sound fundamentals = Painful results. One of the key turning points in the game.

On another note: Reggie Wayne is upset that Austin Collie had 131 yards receiving (and a touchdown) and he only had 99.

Agreed with Chambers on the nod for Heaps but that's the only correct decision he's made in his career thus far. At least we've all realized Keepitreal is nothing but a troll. Stay at Cougarblue if that's where you're from son. We actually do keep it real here and don't need adolescents on the boards.

How about OC worry about catching and holding onto the ball first and then worry about what QB camp he's in?

It was early in the 4th quarter on 3rd down. Nelson was QB obviously. Chambers ran a route that was just a floater across the middle from left to right and he was WIDE open. Not a defender within 10 yards in any direction. Nelson looked in Chambers direction because there were 2 routes that direction. Chambers started waving his arms and jumping up and down right in the middle of the field about 15 yards away. Instead Nelson threw to a TE on the right hash mark in double coverage. Incomplete.

If Heaps had played the entire game, there is a very good chance BYU would've won. End of discussion.

Thanks IJR, now please show the statistics that back that up.

I'm glad that you know that for a fact.

It's hard to give the kid a hard time when he's a freshmen, has barely been given a chance to prove himself yet, and is yanked the second he makes a big mistake, while meanwhile Nelson is given endless opportunities to screw up.

Win or loss to Air Force... there's certainly no doubt that starting Heaps now gives our team greater hope for the future.

How about the poor job Air Force's secondary has done against BYU's passing game over the past 6 years?

Asking me for evidence that Air Force would lose to a good passing team is like me asking you for evidence that scoring more points than your opponent wins the game. Get real.

I do think they should put the Heaps in (a la Barkley at USC or Colt Brennan at Texas as true freshman) and just let him grow into the position.

If we're going to lose that game, we needed to do it playing BYU football; and whether or not Riley is up to the job or not; he did not look like a BYU qb yesterday. I submit that he's entirely too easy to gameplan for and cannot be a longterm option, but what scares me the most is that it might be dividing the team.

And Bronco and co. should've known they were running a HUGE risk of dividing the team by doing this. Nelson and Heaps can talk all day about how much they don't mind it - it's not good for the team.

Not you again! Anyone from Cblue probably remembers this guy. He has no point, other than "Give Chambers a break, he hasn't been there long, and other people have sucked in the past, too." There was rampant speculation that he WAS Chambers, or a very close relative. I can't remember where we ended up on that one.

Chambers is pathetic.

1) Even if it is a relative of Chambers, wouldn't you stick up for your own family?

2) For all you know this could be a BYU fan who doesn't speak english as a first language. No need for everyone to be mocking their english.

3) Calling Chambers "pathetic" is pretty harsh. He's a good player who seems mistake-prone. But I think often times fans blow it way out of proportion. If we had a better option at his spot, we'd use it. Unfortunately, we don't.
