Sounds like Van Noy might want out...

Comments made before the game by coaches- not post game 2nd guessing and figure pointing, and excuses- indicated that the team would not try to prep all of the linebackers for AFA because none would get enough practice reps if they spread the reps across all of the linebackers. It was implied that this was just an AFA special tactic and one-time.

Bronco has the same problem at QB, linebacker, tight end, running back, and to an extent, DL. He has a lot of talent, little experience, and some attitudes of entitlement to deal with.

This is a rebuild. Heaps, btw, has responded as a team player in every quote I have seen from him, as has Riley. Fans ought to do the same- although it is hard not to feel frustrated, devastated, confused, and in despair right now.

Let's hope the team grows. Reminds me a bit of how the post 84 cougars struggled when they started landing the hyped recruits.

Interesting and frustrating times.

are you referring to me?

I'm not talking about practice or him deserving to start or anything. Frazier was clueless against Air Force. Beyond clueless. He deserved to sit, but the coaches decided that Jameson was going to get all the game prep, and we see how well that worked out. So take out Frazier and put in whomever you want. Van noy was just next in line, and Frazier needed to sit. Watch the game again, I think he's #48. Watch how many people he actually tackles, versus the amount of plays he is around. It's like he was afraid to hit. He didn't know whether to hit the guy or wait for him to pitch on half the plays.

In short, if not Frazier, then who?

Everyone should make the decision that they feel are best for them. And, although we may disagree with some of those decisions, if they are made in the spirit of doing what's good and right we should allow others to make them.

Because he is a dumb 19 year old ... remember when you were 19 ?

lol... you said it before I could. Good thing I'm not some dumb 19 year old anymore... just a super mature 22 year old now

I never got a DUI when I was 19...

That's beyond "just a dumb kid."

And I could be wrong on this, but you were probably raised LDS. You don't know KVG's family status, the area he grew up in, etc. I'm not making excuses for him, but you're being short-sighted to pretend that you and him are on the same level in terms of upbringing.

I haven't been to any practices myself, but I - as I'm sure you have - have read virtually every practice report I could find on the internet - for all practices and on all forums. According to those who WERE there, I've read good things about his performance. Either you didn't read them, you forgot them, or you're purposefully ignoring them. And again - you're being short sighted. This isn't about the Air Force game, it's about REBUILDING our team during a rebuilding year, not playing crappy seniors.

And what EXACTLY has Frazier done to prove he should be starting? He did awful. Even if you don't think KVG deserves to start, couldn't he at LEAST get some decent playing time when we're down three touchdowns and the guy who starts is sucking?

My mother in law is in town and staying at our home.

I've said, "don't forget that sunday is for NFL"

If your'e working til 5, who's taking your mom to the airport.

I know your mom cooked it, but she put onions in it.

Great, she spoils her granddaughter and I'm stuck cleaning up more toys for the next 4 months

etc. etc. etc.

If you ask my wife, KVN has nothing on me.

Seriously, this is simply a talented kid that said something in frustration. I have yet to see KVN act out on the field like a primadonna (when that time comes I'll change my tune)

One of the most frustrated and angry players in this last decade was Jordan Pendleton as a freshman, He knew he was good enough to be on the field yet Jaime Hill and Bronco had different ideas. Now he's the most complete football player on either side of the line. (apologies to matt reynolds, who I think is a bit overrated). I think these talented freshmen just need to learn to trust the coaches. The are coaches that want to win and they aren't type to make the same mistake over and over. If the upperclassmen can't handle the job, rest assured the others will get their shot. Bronco has never been afraid to play freshmen and he's proven time and time again that he will adjust his gameplan if something isn't working.

There's a reason he's won double digit games 4 years running. The freshmen just need to learn to buy in. Ultimately they will and KVNs blowup is again a blip on the radar. I'm guessing about 95% of college freshmen at one point in time thought of quitting or transferring. Eventually reason gets the best of them. I like the fact that some of the players are disgusted by losing.

LOL I'm in that same boat. So where are you sitting. I think I am under the engine compartment! My m-in-law buys a toy with 80,000 pieces for each of my five children then comes over and complains that toys need to be picked up and that we have too many of them. In fairness she is a neat freak and has been spotted putting away toys that the kids are actually playing with. She is truly one of those that makes the bed in the middle of the night when you get up to go to the bathroom! But continuing in that vein, I am able to get my revenge by telling my wife she is right so we take those toys with the 80,000 pieces to grandma's house so the kids will have toys to play with when we go there to visit! Revenge a dish best served cold!

I heard Hans Olsen say KVN was our best pass rusher. He saw KVN beat M. Reynolds a couple times. Hans also said he was scary good and talented and should be the starter this year. I trust Han's assessment.

I don't trust Hans at all but I trust what i have seen in the two games and what i read about practice. he is extremely talented and should be starting.

bronco just doesn't know what to do with all this young talent coming in. its a first for him. I think he is mismanaging it personally. but i am not being paid a gross amount to be coach so who cares what i think.

My point is, if KVN is so pissed off about this, I hope he gets off of facebook, gets out on the field with Heaps and Hoffman and the others and start working their tail off. Show in practice that you are better and the coaches will put you in. Bronco and Hill have a history of putting in the guys who work hardest and show they are the best in practice. Hopefully this game will show them the importance of not only being physical athletes but learning the schemes and knowing their assignments.

Yes, but Bronco and BYU have a LARGE history of "rewarding" those that have come before and may not be as talented. And it goes to the extreme sometimes. I go back to my Jordan Pendleton analogy. He isn't a beast because he switched to linebacker. He is a beast because he is a tremendous athlete, with a high intelligence. He would be just as good at FS or SS as he is at LB. He was in the doghouse a year sitting behind nobodies in the secondary. So, it goes both ways.

Exactly. Being disgusted with your team after a disgusting performance does not make you a quitter of a whiner... especially when you know for a fact the guy starting instead of you isn't nearly as good or as talented as you are.

He posted it, he has obviously thought about it. It may have been stupid but it is what he was thinking. Every time he watches people with less talent, more seniority, playing and doing a poor job of it, these thoughts will increase. I don't think we have heard the end of it. Look for a couple high profile players to transfer at the end of the year.

If that happens, then look for a few boosters to pull money out of the program, and in correlation with that, a few coaches to be wondered about.
