You can only be offended if you are looking to be offended. He was joking and it was in all honesty pretty clever. Everyone knows RIley is a good kid, there was no ill will get over it.

Unfortunately there are a select few users on this forum who can't miss an opportunity to prove their superior maturity and fanhood. Some people sure do invest a lot into their screenname.

The "in a way this makes me very happY" above which I believe came from MARS and the one from the guy who quotes himself were mostly what I was referring to more so than the non throwing shoulder joke, which I also thought was in questoinable taste.

I have to admit the "non-throwing shoulder" one was clever, and if u take the TIC the right way I.E. In my case, I don't agree that a healthy Riley Nelson with decent protection can't throw, then it is actually poking fun at all of the people who have jumped to that conclusion even though season stats for Nelson show 10 yards per catch VS Heaps at 8 or 9. I realize yards after catch may skew it, but I think of Heaps as being sort of OK at almost getting us in the end zone and Riley being the best about getting us in the end zone. Imagine how true situational use could have capitalized on that. Reading between the lines, that seems to be where Bronco was headed before the injury report. So if the poster loves, appreciates, and respects Riley Nelson like I do- then it was witty and would probably make Riley laugh so hard it would hurt - cuz he knows he is an effective QB but also knows that was the RAP on him.

Not to eulogized Riley cuz he is still alive, it was reported today that he injured the shoulder in Fall camp, played injured, took the poundings and fan criticism, injured a finger on his throwing hand, started at FSU anyway, reinjured his shoulder, came out and tried to go again anyway.

Team Player all the way. Class Act. RESPECT him.

Definitely shows he is a tough guy who wanted to play, but I also wonder if maybe the "better" thing to do for the team would be to step down - at least for awhile - if you are that beat up? Who knows. What's done is done and hopefully he comes back next year in a position we could use him more at.

He got u in the end zone 3 times as many times as Heaps even though Heaps played 1 more quarter. He was needed at this juncture and we would be 0-3 without him.

Hopefully by giving Heaps 3 weeks to get ready, taking most of the pounding from three physical opponents with poor protection, and keeping Hesps healthy for what should be an easier defense on our home field, he has done what was needed.

As I have shared, the QB rotation caused problems for UW and they could not stop our offense except when we stopped ourselves with penalties and drops.
