Is Bronco over sensitive about BC?

Bronco Mendenhall is a football coach, not a public relations official. Some coaches can do both, some coaches can't. Bobby Bowden was a great coach and a great PR guy for example. Bob Knight was a great coach but a terrible PR guy.



Bronco is always upfront and honest in his interviews, this is where the "Bronco is a robot" jokes stem from. Bronco tells it like it is and sometimes that is not the right approach from a PR standpoint. It offends and frustrates people. But that is just the way Bronco is. He may not be a very good PR guy but he is one hell of a football coach. 50-17.



But to say Bronco doesn't care about the fans is a joke. It was under Bronco that these weekly firesides started. How awesome is it that a 12 year old kid living in San Diego or Wyoming or Texas can now meet the players he loves face to face? Fans from all over the country are now getting the chance to be upfront and personal with these coaches and players like they never have before. That happened because of Bronco.



Other examples are the 5 dollar T-shirts, Thursdays Heros and the players high-fiving the fans after every game home or away. All of these things are FOR the fans and they happened/are happening BECAUSE of Bronco.



I find it funny how the fans that feel it's okay to boo Broncos performance are the same fans that get offended when Bronco essentially boos their performance.



Boo Bronco if you wish but be ready to take it like a man when he boos you right back.

Triests, Italy, but not for the reason you think. The stadium was always half empty, so the team management filled half the stadium with vinyl fans to create the illusion of stadium fullness.

He is over being booed and in his own way he is giving you the finger. He suspended Chambers and said you need to take two weeks off and learn how to do this with dignity. Bronco does care about fans. What he is saying is that he is not going to substitute fans whims, emotions, and uninformed opinions for the experienced judgment and wisdom that got him the job when making decisions he will be held accountable for.



Re the 80% estimate



Lavell did work for 1/4 of his value or less and without the security of a long-term contract. Bronco has a better deal - but



June Jones got $2M at SMU and his assistant at UH replaced him at UH for $1.3M. Who would you rather have? June might be a fair comparison, but Mendenhall gets less than half that amount. $1.3m for a new HC, McMackin at UH, who has done nothing since is 50% higher than Bronco.
