Heaps cannot place the ball on the sidelines, he doesn't have the touch yet.

How can he take a sack like that on 4th? Unbelievable.

Easy, first he started to get tackled, and then he got tackled. :bug:

Defense needs to just score on the next turnover I guess.

Heaps had no chance on that 4th down. They guy came up through the middle untouched, other were coming free off the sides, and Heaps isn't athletic enough to get out the way. He had no chance...

i am starting to really get upset about the whole idea that through fall camp we did not pick a QB and go with one. Splitting reps between two QB's was stupid and only retarded our already steep learning curve on our young team.

Game over. I hope that Heaps gets better. I think I can count the good throws this game on one hand. I know he's hyped, but I just don't see it.

Who does BYU beat this year? Anyone want to take a stab at that?

I sincerely hope this is a result of the "youth" of BYU's team, and we're not spiraling into an excuse-laden, coaches-blame-the-players' youth, crowton-esque series of years.

Somebody give me some hope. Something to make me think there's a chance of more than three victories. I need BYU football not to suck this bad.

Nevada looks like a genius for cancelling that game now.

Wow. Dirty Rats.

Surprisingly I'm not as jump off the cliff about the defense as most everyone here. I'm impressed we held Nevada to only 27 points, thats half their average.

I think if you had asked any of us if we would have been happy if our defense held Nevada to 27 points we would have gladly taken it.

The defense certainly has issues.

But the problem is the offense.

You just do not win football games averaging 15 points per game scoring.

Lets throw some hail marys.

Heaps starting to look like a BYU QB on this drive, but can he finish?

This is a home game with a head coach who prides his defensive prowess. I am disappointed in this game, though they did get 2 turnovers.

Hoffman is proving himself tonight. He's going to be good.

If Bronco would just attend those defensive meetings....

Coach Hill, "Okay guys, Heads we take it easy in the first half, tails we save our break for the second"

I think 7-5 is the absolute best case scenario right now. And that would take a helluva turnaround.

I hate to say it but I doubt 7-5 is even in the realm of possibilities. This team would be exceeding lucky to beat even the likes of Wyoming, New Mexico & Las Vegas. Right now, they're that bad.

Well I am trying to have a little bit of optimism ;)

I wish I had your optimistic fortitude. Maybe I just need to go get a diet coke. Yeah, that will improve my outlook.

Sigh.

I prefer Rolling Rock

Sounds good at this point, I'll join you.

SEriously. There was a lot of improvement in this game. Much better than week 2-3.

Heaps was ugly today. He's just not ready.... yet. Redshirt would have been golden for him. He missed a lot of wide open guys that would have resulted in TDs or huge pickups. He'll come around at some point, but it might not be for a while. Might not happen this year.

The Defense slowed down Nevada. The Offense just couldn't keep up.

It's a new week. Nevada played a good game. Credit to them
