What I love is that should we find a way to win we would be in the driver's seat to win our last conference championship!

Unless Air Force wins out, that is...

Victory or shut out. My two most likely probabilities.

gotta give you homers credit. Cant conceive a win this week.

Really? In the world of sports where Ap St. beats #3 Michigan, where the 1980 American college students beat the professional Russian Mob-on-ice, where Buster Douglas beat Tyson, where Rulon Gardener beat 10-time undefeated champion Karelin, where there are the Miracle Mets, the Immaculate Reception, the Holy Roller, etc. etc. etc.? You can't even "conceive" of a 2-4 Cougar team beating a 6-0 TCU? Sad, my friend, just sad.

A fan can hope. That is why they play the games. Sometimes it is hard to predict what a bunch of college althletes will do on any given day. I am fairly sure BYU will be playing hard hitting, physical football. I hope they get some good hits on Dalton when he decides to run. I loved watching Van Noy on Saturday. I can't wait to see Kavinga next year. As a middle age man, I would love to play linebacker, as I now have come to recognize my deep seeded, underlying anger management issues. How great would it be to fly around and hit a TCU, or Utah offensive player. A reality for only a few lucky guys.

If we win, I will take all of you to lunch who have posted to this point on this thread.

I am still cheering for the Cougs, but this would have to be one of the largest upsets in BYU history.

Hope I am wrong but just dont see the Cougars winning Saturday. At the start of the season I thought they would be undefeated going into this game so that shows how much of an expert I am.

With lunch in mind I thought I'd better post. ;).

I think BYU can win but it is a slim chance. Cover the spread, definitely. I think bronco would be pretty ticked if his team gives up 30 points, much less loses by 30. I can see our d slowing down their offense, but moving against their d will be our tougher task. We need to play some inspired football...we have nothing to lose in this one which makes it scary for TCU.

My prediction is we are more competitive than the past two years and we beat the points spread. My hope is for the win.

if that's true... then I think BYU will win.

(I've got nothing to lose here!)

This has been my prediction from m.onths ago. Teams don't win good teams 3 times in a row. We are due. We are going to win. You reasoning, there is none. Would be biggest upset in byu football history.

Gentlemen,

I'm laying down what little cred I have left (after the prediction game decimated my stock).

Call me a homer, but BYU wins. (Or at least they beat the spread.)

I'll get in line too.

Go Cougs!

BYU beats the spread. "If" the game was @ Provo - BYU would have a chance. But, the away game, the injuries, the state of chaos both offensively & defensively!!!! Beating the spread is huge!!!

I'm with ya. If we win - I'll pitch in & take all the "Boyz" to Costco for Big Dawgs!!! All you can eat! LOL!!!!

Seriously - I just do not see a win this Sat. vs. TCU. We are evolving & becoming a team. I think we will surprise & be better than a 30 pt. spread.

It's good to seem some swagger somewhere among our fans!

It seems too dead of a week around here considerning we're playing a top 5 ranked team. As Greg Wrubell said, speaking of great teams we've ever beat, a win at Ft. Worth would go down probably as the greatest win we ever achieved seeing that unlike some highly ranked teams that we beat that latter fizzled from such lofty rankings, TCU is a legitimate top 10 team.

To look around the various Cougar boards, it looks like a young boy heading home and knowing he's gona get a butt whuppen when he gets there.

I think BYU is finally coming back and with Utah's schedule BYU might be 5-0 or 4-1. However, TCU has been playing the lay a beat down on BYU since the last one and Patterson's biggest problem will be convincing his team to take a 2-4 team seriously.

But this game is a near-sellout and not with BYU fans making up half the crowd like the last two games in Fort Worth. And TCU at home this season has been much, much better than on the road. I will be happy if TCU is not up by 17 or more at halftime....

Two ENTIRELY different things. Unless you are equating with winning and beating the spread. Personally, I don't think either is going to happen.

I should have pulled the spread part out. So let me be clear: BYU wins.

WOOT WOOT!!! COUGARS WIN!!!!!!! and McGregor for what it is worth.. You could be wrong on this (but you aren't) and you still have plenty of cred to go around!!!

the defense would have to play out of their minds, and the offense would have to play completely free of any mistakes. No dropped passes, no fumbles, and no interceptions from Heaps. I think we'll very possibly cover the spread IF we see the jump in performance we did from Utah State to SDSU, but winning... well, I'd be surprised.

Kinda like against Oklahoma? Or go way back and sub in Miami. And after all the things said by Paterson who knows. Bronco may have them REAL motivated.

Never, ever, give in.

But remember it just doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter, it just doesn't matter, because... :D

McGregor has the most cred of any poster on this board and I love the prediction.

I just can't buy into it. I am selling big time and calling it:

TCU 42

BYU 17

I think we are a much improved team since the USU game, but given that the USU game is the worst BYU game I have ever watched, I just don't think we have improved enough.

For what it's worth I called the USU game and then said we would lose to SDSU in embarrassing fashion, so really, what do I know.

Here's hoping that my prediction sucks!

Considering they have beat us by a collective 70-14 the last 2 seasons, I think this is really going out on a limb. I do like our chances of playing our best game of the year this week though, and if that happens, it will be good enough for me. At this point, I just want to see some fight in this team because it sets us up well for the rest of hte year and moving forward. I just want to see them compete for all 60 minutes, no matter the outcome. Not sure that has happened the last 2 games we played v. TCU.

Why do fans have more of an interest in predicting the score than pulling for the team? I've read a lot of "I'd like BYU to pull out the win but I just don't see it happening..." I get no joy of any kind giving a prediction like TCU 42 BYU 17. I guess some just aren't into the game for the joy of it all.

I'm staying on the BYU wins wagon.
