If Jake Heaps acted the way OC has I wouldn't want him either. I'm glad its over. Good luck in "Da League." I can't stand people who quit and I can't stand people who think they are bigger than the team. Peace out OC.

A little harsh. Not cool.

I would caution you to assume that I havent' chatted with current players...

But you're right, he has been suspended 3 times now for nothing... Bronco is a real kook

Maybe if he took as much care in being a team player as he did being a friend to a little kid, he might still be on the team.

Craigo, nothing personal between you and I. I simply said unless you know firsthand then I'd be cautious. Apparently you know firsthand, more power to you. All I know is what I read here and last time I checked this is his 2nd (perhaps last) suspension per Greg Wrubel, not 3rd as you stated.

And I never said anything about Bronco being a "kook". I support almost everything (literally) that Bronco has done. I was only suggesting it was not too becoming to bag so hard on O'Neill. Frankly I think it's downright rude and uncalled for. His mother frequents this site and posts quite often and as a parent it would hurt me quite a bit to see personal attacks (whether founded or not) being publically spouted about my son.

Go Cougs!!!

+1. Ditto. I would caution harsh statements about O.C. - we do not know all the facts or circumstances.

Yes, we believe in individuality and being yourself, but the kicker that a lot of people don't understand is that we also believe that those need to be controlled by boundaries the Lord has set.

I really don't want to turn this into a religious philosophical debate. I just wanted to point out that after being here for multiple years, it seems OC still doesn't get what BYU is about.

If his goal is to "keep fighting back until the end", why is he at a place like BYU? Why not just go to a place where there are no rules or standards? BYU is not for everyone and that's okay, because it's not designed to be for everyone. It's designed to be for people who want to conform to a higher standard of living.

I understand that a facebook post the day after getting suspended isn't a good indicator of what type of person you are, but if that's his knee jerk reaction, then this is mine.

yeah, I don't think many of us would disagree with that. I think I probably agree with what most of oc is saying, but as a member of the team he can't say it. as fans we can. he is a member of the team. he has to be a team player. he is a player, not a coach. if he has an opinion he should take it to the coaches in a constructive way, not the way he appears to have done it. I just don't think he gets it.

This is just not good for the team. people can pretend like it doesn't matter but it just adds to the byu is a mess notion that is surely nagging in their heads right now.

a few wins in a row will go a long way hopefully to helping this team get back on track. a win against utah would be worth a lot this year, more than in years past.

Its hard to even fathom what is going on with byu football right now. i just think our coaches seriously botched this year. the indecisiveness and two qb crap split the team and we have never recovered. there are other factors but this falls on teh coaches in my opinion. our players are not playing to the potential we know they have. i blame that on coaching. defense appears to be changing that now that bronco is actually paying attention to them. he should have started paying attention earlier and he should get anae's attention right now by demoting him for a game or two and letting someone else make the play calls to see if they can do better.

I think our coaches are learning this year from some unique situations that they have not had to deal with previously. Next time these things come around, I expect Bronco to handle them differently, except the OC stuff. Sounds like he made his own bed and now gets to sleep in it. If he bails from school, that is on him. If he takes the hit to his pride with humility, then more respect to him.
