Heaps touchdown pass: that was a good pass....a very good pass. The pass on the previous play to Ashworth a 30 yard down and out...that was a good pass....a very good pass. Max Hall's pass to Collie across the body with a partial shoulder separation--that was a good pass a very good pass...Beck's pass to Harline accroos body and field...that was an ugly duckliing that was still the BEST pass...I want some more of these passes... :)

To stay on topic, does the "Anatomy of a Good Pass" produce a passer rating of 87.9 which ranks 110 out of 112 and a mere 102.4 behind the leader Kellen Moore and 41.8 behind true freshman Pete Thomas? Does passer rating tell the whole story? No. Is it useful in determining the effectiveness of the QB? Absolutely. Sorry, but that's the reality we now live in.

Sorry cougman, nice try. Your post is just a latent Heaps sucks post bc this whole thread is a Heaps sucks thread.

Sadly, a logical fallacy was utilized as a premise for this thread. Stay with me folks--any of you, that is, that can handle more than just Heaps sucks or doesnt suck simplicity--AND the fallacy was formed with the use of an explicit dichotomy that allows for only two possibilities: Black or white--all or nothing--good pass or bad pass--Sucks or doesnt suck. HOw could this thread render anything but a Heaps sucks result?

It dissallows--as defined AND IF WE STAY ON TOPIC--for just that. Jake sucks, sucks, sucks. We get it. Everybody gets that. get over it.

When are some folks going to step away from the reductionistic, simple-simon approach and get over the fact that even Heaps lovers see that Jake sucks.

Its about causality. And some folks just simply see Heaps as the causal factor for the down year and find innumerable ways/posts to try and convince the Heaps-lovers. But underneath all this smoke and mirror analysis, Heaps-haters want their money back, want their ego satisfied, their pound of flesh delivered, their scapegoat benched, their fall-guy's head on a platter, and even Marshall is netter than Heaps; and all the while are exhibiting their profound lack of self-soothing during a difficult and frustrating year--searching desperately for THE ANSWER.

Unfortunately the "Heaps sucks" camp is as narrow-minded as the "Heaps will win the Heisman" camp. Usage by posters of warn-out terms in a condescending and "politically correct" non-personally attacking fashion such "hardly a God-send" or He's just an Engeman or Berry, and others are pathetic. As though they were ripped off and they are now mad and will pound the pulpit in a sanctimonious manner claiming they never did think Heaps should start--

oh hell, why bother continuing, Im caught in the same loop of those that I'm trying to convince that their schtick about convincing Jake-lovers that Jake sucks is getting old itself.

Yep, you caught me. Although I am just calling it like it is and as you not so simply stated, this thread was never intended to discuss the actual mechanics of a good pass. It was started with the intention to discuss the development of Heaps, and more specifically his flaws that are either becoming less and less (Heaps-Lover Camp), or staying the same/getting worse (Can we see Munns/Lark-Camp) depending on who you ask.

If you think that the issue is only a QB problem you need to go back and watch some games. I honestly don't think anyone of our QB's would be doing any better than Heaps is doing right now (QB Efficientcy/Balls Caught).

Here's to hoping for a long and fruitful bye week.

Go Cougars.

ps. Don't get me wrong, Heaps has had his growing pains.

Fair enough. Although I think some in the newly announced Munns/Lark camp (or should that be called the Lark/Munns camp?--sounds like a new thread waiting for its bastardized Anti-Heaps afterbirth) should be part of the newly announced Heaps-lovers-haters camp. :-)

I think plenty of former QBs could have done more with this team. most of our QB "great" did more with less. We aren't seeing any cohesion or unity on the offensive side of the ball. Jake is not a leader...yet, and that is this team's biggest weakness. A real leader would already have this offense looking much better. To be fair though, it doesn't look like there are ANY leaders on the O.

I still think behind the scenes there is some bad chemistry somewhere. Anae vs players/"entitled" attitude/receivers vs themselves and the world/ i don't know what it is but something is up. Something is a major distraction to the development of this team. They should have been much better against WYoming.

Hopefully it gets sorted out the next two weeks.

There is alot going on behind the scenes: at all levels.

Coaches against coaches: ANae vs Reynolds= spread vs power I

Anae vs Doman = Nelson vs Heaps; my offense vs your future offense

Coaches vs players--no confidence in Anae

PLayers vs players: older vs younger, no leadership, and "Jake sucks"
