Shooting Less then 40% worked to beat Wofford but not Florida. What a frustrating game.

That was the worst game we have played in weeks by far. It's a miracle we went to OT because we left probably 20 points out on the floor due to terrible missed layups and errant 3's. We had something like 5 steals/stops in a row in the 1st half during one 6 minute stretch and we didn't gain a single point on them. Same thing happened in the end where we were within 1 or it was tied and we kept launching 3's or not going to the hole.

We played a terrible game and Jimmer just did not have it at all tonight. I just hope the pundits don't write this off as "Well Florida was expected to win" because we are so much better than them and we proved it tonight by taking them to OT when we played this bad. Ah, frustrating.

Frustrating indeed. BYU didn't seem to have enough gas in OT.

Agreed. Biggest missed free throw in school history?

That was soo BS, the refs gave FL the game at every chance they could, Tech on Jackson, no call rape on our 3 point shooters.

Hey I bet Dave Rose and Dave Rice are all of a sudden "not good enough for utah". Ha, what a train wreck.

Anyways, Jimmer had his shot that would've won the game before overtime. Florida was on fire in OT, BYU co. had plenty of missed shots that could've been the difference. I feel like we should've won that game, which is saying a lot because Florida led most of the game. I hope Jimmer gets POY, and thanks for the national coverage Cougars!

That is a pretty simple analysis since we never know what Florida might have done after the made FT...and no it wouldn't necessarily be the same that they did after the missed FT since this is all hypothetical...too easy to say a game is won or lost on only one play, shot, FT, etc. over a 40 minute (45 in this case) game. Florida did what was necessary to win, hit enough outside shots, wear us down inside, hound Jimmer just enough, and we did just enough to lose...not shoot the ball well enough and not enough point production from supporting cast. Love the effort and heart of this team and the way they represented the University and BYU Nation throughout the season. Like I said before, I am going to enjoy this ride until it comes to an end...now it is time to get off the train. Thanks for a great and memorable season. GO COUGARS!

If Florida had hit their FTs, the game wouldn't have even been close.

Jimmer became a bit too selfish with the ball in the last 5 min of game. That's what killed us. And rather than take it to the lane like he was doing with success early in the game he tried to launch 40 footers.

I hope Carlino took note of Florida's inside out game. With our shooters next season a driving Carlino and kick to the outside ought to be money. Jimmer did not pass the ball well in the 2nd half, which is mind boggling to me because the only reason we were in the game in the first half was because others were hitting shots.

And why wasn't Rogers in more? Ughhhh!

Because Rogers was saddled with 4 PF's. :~(

Just got back from watching the game @ a Sports Pub in So. Calif. I would say - about 60% of the crowd was cheering BYU & Jimmer on! They were very vocal for Jimmer. They went crazy when it went into OT.

They thought for sure, Jimmer should sizzle & take over in OT. Not so. Disappointment & quiet settled over the Pub.

So - thanks Coach Rose, Jimmer & the entire BYU Basketball Team!! What a GREAT season!!!! Very memorable.

If he would have made the opening layup we might be saying the same thing too. Or if SOMEONE would have actually ran to get that rebound with 14 sec to go we would probably be playing Sat. I would have loved to see the ball in Jimmer's hand with 14 sec and the score tied. He would at least be able to draw a foul. (except I think the refs were MWC because it looked like they could have pulled a gun and shot him and there would have been no call).

I think Jimmer got tired of watching bricks and donks that he took it upon himself to try and get the points.

It was a nice and fun run while it lasted. I wonder what it would have been like if we had Davies, Collinsworth, Loyd, and Haws playing? I guess you might have called that the perfect storm for BYU.

Next year maybe we make the tourny but in two I think we should be a sweet 16 or elite 8 worthy team. The future is still bright. Just disappointed we don't get to watch Jimmer and Emery in Cougarblue anymore.

They would have played to get 2 points just like they did. BYU stopped them twice while tied and would have won if they had had a 1 point lead. Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming the loss on the freshman, I am just pointing out my observation of what happened. My point with all of my posts is that if BYU hits a normal percentage of their shots, we win easily. It was just sad circumstance that we had a true freshman shooting free throws with everything on the line and he was not able to deliver both of them.

Hard to pin it on 1 missed free throw when the kid had 15 boards and was a key reason why we were even close at all. Had Jimmer hit more shots, the FT is a non-issue. Plus, it he hits the FT, can not say what Florida does after that. It changed the way the end of he game was played and how Florida used the clock entirely. Florida could play for OT and be conservative. If down, they couldn't

BYU played well enough to win it. Just did not shoot it well enough to win. The rest was there.

The technical on Jackson was a game changer.

all the things mentioned would have made a huge difference. it was the small things that killed us. that and we were just off shooting. i think on an average night we beat florida quite handidly. i was not that impressed with them at all to be honest. thye were shooting like 90 percent there for a while and were still only up a few points while our guys were all over the place and sloppy.

another thing to mention. if rose rolled the dicea little more and kept emery in. that probably would have been a game change as well.

But it was a great season. Its hard to lose that way though. Proud of this team and how they responded to losing Davies. That took a lot of character on their part. They should have won last night but came up short just barely despite most of them having off nights.

but the first shot we missed when collinsworth missed that open layup i turned to my father in law and said to him that shot will cost us the game. i predicted it would come down to a one possession win. my prediction was 71 68 and i think at the end of the game it was tied at 68 68. that one shot would have made the difference. cant blame it on that one shot because any number of open shots could have changed that, but that is why it hurts so bad. we were sloppy and florida still couldn't take advantage. byu is better than i thought they were without davies. we have a real shot at the final four and even the title game with a little luck.

THANKS BYU BASKETBALL PLAYERS AND COACHES. AWESOME YEAR!!!!

Horrible offensive foul called by the ref, which led to the technical was a game changer. That was not an offensive foul. Emery should have kept his mouth shut, but a warning would have been nice.
