I participated in a wrestling tournament at Raytown high school once. Those farm kids sure eat their wheaties!

Raytown is all city; it's just a subsection of Kansas City (in fact some people would call Raytown the ghetto).... (a city mind you that is bigger than Salt Lake)... apparently they eat their wheaties in the hood.

regardless, I'm planning to go see a couple of the kids games and let him know BYU fans are rootin for him; I guarantee there's a lot more Mizzou and Kstate fans letting him know the same thing.

Admittedly we didn't look around very much, it was more of a "business trip" for the team. We did go to a grocery store and ask for power bars though. They were very confused and looked for them in the pharmacy section.

A kid for next year's class -2011- that BYU is looking at:

TE NR Jarett Finau (0) 6-3/225

(Juanita HS) Kirkland, WA

Offered by: Arizona

http://washington.scout.com/a.z?s=147&p=9&c=2&cid=968305&nid=4787961&fhn=1&ssf=1&RequestedURL=http%3a%2f%2fwashington.scout.com%2fa.z%3fs%3d147%26p%3d9%26c%3d2%26cid%3d968305%26nid%3d4787961%26fhn%3d1

He has been offered a scholarship by Arizona, but judging by his Scout.com photo, that's not the school he's the most interested in. Check out the link above!

BYU has now offered this player. Also offering him: Arkansas, Boston College, CSU, UNM, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA, WSU, and Wyoming. He was recently moved from a one-star recruit to three stars, and is now ranked as the #19 Offensive Guard in the nation.

I wonder if he wants to play in the PAC-10, even though he's LDS. He says he's still hoping for more offers.

Also, Still, the WR from Utah, commited to Utah.

BYU has not offered Luatua yet, and I don't think they will. Just because a kid is LDS doesn't mean he is a good fit for BYU and the Honor Code.

BYU has now offered this player.

The "w" in now was supposed to be a "t", as in, BYU has "not" offered this player. Kind of makes a big difference, doesn't it?

That photo is priceless! Love it. I assume he will camp at BYU this summer, and if the coaches like him, he will get an offer. Especially if he has mission plans.

MLB JC Josh Atkinson (0) 6-1/230/4.6

[Diablo Valley JC]

He enrolled at BYU in 2008 as a regular student, but then he began missing football. In 2009, his brother Jordan, a 3-star player with roughly the same measurables, got a scholarship to BYU out of junior college as a WLB, so Josh went to the same JC and began playing again. This season he totaled 56 tackles, 10.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks and one fumble recovery as a redshirt freshman. BYU was interested but didn't offer him in 2010, so he is going back for his sophomore season to try to earn a scholarship to play for the Cougars in 2011. And judging by his photos, the dude looks built, and he looks like he's one bad dude on the football field...

Does anyone have any information about a top SC offensive line commit that will sign a letter of intent the first week of Feb. 2011? Apparently he has a brother that was a former player on the team.

DE/OG NR Faigame Lopa * (1) 6-2/245

[Grant Union HS] Sacramento, CA

Offered by: Washington State

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=4751320

"As a 2009 junior at Sacramento (Calif.) Grant, had 100 tackles, 20 sacks, recovered six fumbles, forced three of them and blocked four punts. Named All-Conference and All-SacJoaquin Section."

Offered yesterday by both Arizona and Washington.

Offered since then by Arizona State, Fresno State, and SDSU. I think he still badly wants offers from Cal, USC, Stanford, UCLA, and BYU.
