Maybe a little worn down from bringing it during the last 2.

Could be. He played lights out on offense the last 2. We did just play a game less than 48 hours ago in a state 15 states away from this one.

Hopefully they can put it away soon and he can rest up and he can bring the noise again.

He does have 10 rebounds already

Not good.....Nate and Brandon both with 4 fouls with 9 min left

That has to have been a record for amount of fouls called between media timeouts. It took like 20 minutes.

To give up 13 plus offensive rebounds and still be up 16 is something!

Fantastic effort tonight! What a way to redeem this lost season!

Is it me or is that the first time I've seen the WCC commish congratulate us on a win?

Fantastic win by the Cougars, it's great to see the team finally starting to put the mental game on par with the physical game.

We had 4 guys playing like starters tonight and solid at the other spot.

Anyone still think Zylstra should be on the bench giving minutes to the inexperienced guys? Carlino has discovered that it is a team sport and that he is the QB. As annoncers quoted Rose saying - when Carlino plays well his leadership lifts the entire team.

This is the team I expected to it to be as it played in the early part of the season. Fast and loose. Did not expect Zylstra to play as well as he has the last 3 games.

When we get out and run we win, simple as that. 8) 8) 8)

The key to our success has been the outstanding play of Carlino. He is pushing the ball up court, dishing it to open spots (Zylstra, Haws) for spot up 3s, or getting it into the post to Davies. His 3 pt shot is back, from 4-5 feet behind the line, and keeps the defense from sagging in on Davies. Another good surprise has been the defensive effort of Nate Austin -rebounding and playing energetic defense. The starting line-up of Davies, Austin, Haws, Zylstra, Carlino has been consistent the last 4 games, and they are playing much more cohesive than any time in the season. This team, as it is, has a chance to make magic in MSG as they are on a roll.

The outside shooting to begin this game, and the energy on defense were the jump start we needed in this one. So Miss was playing very tough D inside. What a game.

My observation is that Carlino has emerged as the leader that this team needed. That second time he threw the ball away trying to get it to Kaufusi was a pivital moment. Instead of fuming he went to half court and told the team where he wanted them and the press was easily broken from then on. Way to go Matt. This is your team now.

The key to this game was rebounding. This let us get out and run. Guys were moving off the ball. We passed very well and then hit open shots. Davies got help on both the offensive and defensive glass. It was a great team effort.

I saw the same thing too, and ESPN highlighted it. At least half of Carlino's turnovers this season can be attributed to getting jammed and having to throw the ball away because the players aren't moving to the ball. This should be addressed by the assistant coaches, but it was good to see Carlino do it. (I don't think the assistant coaches are any good.)

I was n a plane back to Utah during the whole game. Watched part on DVR late. Read all the articles and posts.

Great game. Way to go Cougs!

This is the team that I thought BYU should have been. Probably not WCC champs, but not the chumps they were down the stretch.

I have a theory about this and will start another thread on the "Anatomy of this post-season Run." I'd be interested in your comments. Obviously some have been in this thread as well.

If Zylstra had been playing like he had the entire season I would say yes but Brick has finally started hitting his open shots. Honestly, with the injury to Sharp we don't have a lot of other options and it's good to see him finally come up huge in big games. Now Cusick is another story.......give his minutes to Calvert and be done with it.

Kaufusi actually played a big role last night too. He provided a lot of energy and good defense. Finally showed some more potential and he may be a difference maker for the Baylor game. I'm starting to hope Bronson is able to come back next year too. Hopefully Bronco lets Bronson work out for both football and basketball this summer so Bronson could contribute some offensively next year as well

Some of the things that impressed me:

All 5 starters had 5 or more rebounds.

4 out of 5 starters had 3 or more assists, and the team assisted on 24 out of 29 baskets.
