Well that is up to the BIG 12 so who knows?

He did tweet the bird! Suck it Ejim. Your guys are thugs Hoyberg!

And now I see Ejims tweeted apology! What a farce! suspend two players next game.

He says he lost his composure. He lost more than that. He lost his dignity.

Carlino did a disappearing act---again. He has to learn to play smarter. Jackin up 3s hopin to find your stroke down the stretch was stupid. Tankfully he penetrated the one time and created something more than a brick or turnover.

Aside from Tyler getting fouled On the screen at the end, he should have passed the ball. Everybody was standing around. Michael Jrdan knew when to give up the ball to Pippen or the Paxton or a few others. Ty has to give the ball up just then.

But the biggest culprits--free throws and letting ISU get about five offensive boards down the stretch.

Mika would have made a difference at then end. Austin was not a go to threat. Mika could have drawn a crowd and dished to haws or Carlino.

One more thing. This was just like GFGH. Our guys were tired. There were not enough rotations. What happened to Halford?

Love the Chicago Bulls reference..lol..Mika gone was a killer but that was some BS dirty garbage foul on him...

Losing Mika was the game, because as improved as Austin is, he could not handle that big dude who made shot after shot. Mika CAN handle a guy like that.

Totally! Freshman Mika > Freshman Davies. But dang glad we got both.

We simply don't have a player who we can give the ball in crunch time and get 2 or a foul or both. You don't win these kinds of games without that guy. Last time we had a guy like that was Jimmer. BYU has a bunch of guys who are good, no one is great.

Yes, we do. His name is Tyler Haws and he had a bad game. How soon do we forget.... (5th leading scorer in the country last year)

This was a team loss though. Everyone contributed to the loss... even the coaches.

I'd love to have the last 3 minutes back... ouch

Jimmer would have gotten a shot off at the end of the game guaranteed. Tyler gets blocked. He simply is not athletic enough to carry a team, he is a great role player, not a superstar who can put the team on his shoulders and win the game when needed.

Sorry, Haws is just as much the "athlete" as Fredette.

Seriously? Guy had 19 points, 7 assists, 4 boards and 4 steals and you want to blame him. Only reason were even in this game was because of Carlino.

You want to talk about a disappearing act, go look at Haws' stat sheet. Guy didn't have a single point in the 2nd half till the final few minutes and then his first points were from the line. Only one field goal in the 2nd half.

I disagree. Fredette was a once in a generation player who could get his shot off at will. I saw Haws get blocked twice in this game on jump shots, once was in one on one coverage, the second was at the end of the game. Jimmer would have gotten his shot off, he would not have been blocked.

Don't get me wrong guys, I am not blaming Haws for the loss. I think haws is a tremendous player. I am just trying to make a point that this particular BYU team has no superstars, in close games against top 25 teams you need a superstar to carry the team when the rest of the guys start struggling under pressure. If BYU would have had a superstar (we have had one superstar in the last 30 years), we win this game easily.

Jimmer hasn't played hoops at BYU in 3 years. Give it up with the Jimmer woulda coulda if-only-we-had-Jimmer stuff. It's like saying Ty Detmer would have made that pass or Austin Collie would have made that catch. Enjoy the team we have.

So, a player that finished 7th in the nation in scoring last year isn't a super star? Wow, that's a high bar. I feel sorry for your kids.

Ask Jimmer how he fared against Kansas states pressure. Iowa state is a good team and they have superb athletes for their first 6 players. After that, they basically would lose to the utes. But they executed their game plan, (focus on Haws, slow the game down in the 2nd half, keep grinding, poking orbits, etc etc) and they got the win. BYU was NOT able to counter.

I am not bemoaning the fact that Jimmer has graduated, my point is that this particular team has no superstar to carry the team when times get tough. In order to compete with the best, we need that superstar. I think that Mika has the potential to develop into that but he is still young and raw.

How many points did he score in crunch time tonight? How many in games against Gonzaga and St mary's last year? Please stop criticizing my opinion in such a way that I have to disparage a very good player in order to make my point. Haws is a very good basketball player but he is not a player that can put BYU on his shoulders and carry us to the win. That is my only point, along with BYU not having a player like that on the roster yet. Mika might develop into that but he is not there yet.

You just made my point. They focused on Haws, took him out of the game and won. Every team on our schedule in 2010 focused on Jimmer and he averaged 30pts per game, and carried us (without Davies) to the sweet 16. I love this team, we are going to win a lot of games, just don't get too upset when we have teams that beat us because we don't have anyone who can carry us on their backs when things get tough.

Haws did what he did last year as a soph right off a mission. He will get better this year and have better games this year than he did last year. He has a better supporting cast. He was off and so was the rest of the team. We got outcoached in the 2nd half, we got outhustled in the 2nd half, we got outmustled in the 2nd half (after outmustling them in the 1st.) We got the yips. This game was 1 free throw away from at least overtime. ISU had no chance in OT with their foul trouble. Haws didn't play great, but who did in the 2nd half? There will be times we put the game on his shoulders and he delivers.. just not tonight.

This game hurts because we should have won, could have won, and now are young and growing center might be limited for a while. ISU made more plays in the 2nd half than us. It sucks, but Tyler did not lose this game for us. It was a team effort... had we hit one more free throw the tone on this page would be very very different.

This was an incredibly painful loss. ISU is a talented team, at least their top 7 players are, but we definitely had our chances to get a victory. I didn't have any respect for ISU to begin with (I'm a KU fan, everyone hates KU and we loathe everyone else), so I couldn't lose any after watching them pull the crap they did. It sucks that a very entertaining game between two talented teams had to be marred by such immature and thuggish (I hate using that word) actions from ISU. I would've loved to come out with a victory and send those d-bags home as losers.

Frdbtr is correct about Haws. The problem with his game is that he doesn't create off the dribble on his own. He comes of curls and screens. Late in games that can be defended as we saw on the pathetic shot that was blocked. That's why I said that Carlino should be taking late shots not Haws or KC. Carlino is our clutch player for better or for worse.

One last time. I am NOT blaming Tyler haws for the loss. My point is that we do not have a superstar on our team that we can turn to that is able to put the team on his shoulders and win the game. We need a guy like that to win these games against top 25 teams. Tyler Haws is a very good player but he is not that guy. I agree with you on getting out hustled and out muscled in the second half. If we have a go to guy, we win regardless. This team is what it is, I like watching them. I was frustrated that we let this one slip away (which seems to be the same old story over the last few years). Onward and upward. Hopefully Mika will recover quickly.

Georges is 6-7/240). Put Kafusi on him and he has second thoughts about going to the basket hard. Kafusi is still a missing piece with this team as it has no enforcer. 6-11 Austin has height and rebounds well but is not a defensive stopper.
