Making an accusation like James did is the same as accusing someone of sexual abuse. The accused has no defense, innocent or not, the mere accusation assumes guilt.
Except, in the case of Leach there are eyewitnesses with sworn affidavits. Here's what I think happened:
1) James is cleared to practice by team doctors (is this true?)
2) James doesn't feel like practicing because he just had a concussion and is a weenie
3) Leach doesn't like that his player is whining again about practicing
4) Leach tells the trainers to get him off outta his face, lock him in a room, and keep him there (kind of like I do with my 5 year-old)
5) Trainer's like, "um, okay."
6) James stews over this for a couple days, tells his dad what happens, dad calls the AD...
7) AD gets call from dad and thinks, "hmm, I've been wanting to get rid of Leach's contract for awhile..."
8) Leach refuses to sign the AD's fat little girlfriends apology letter
9) AD gives Leach the boot for "cause."
I have a feeling that this will be settled out of court. The University doesn't want to drag this in to public court for everyone to see.
