Something interesting I noticed on Scout was that a 3 star CB from Punahou (Manti's) alma mater spurned ND for Boise St. I guess some recruits are more concerned with winning than the name of the program.

They first asked about BYU's needs. Bronco said it was not position specific but he was getting guys and listed the BYU reasons (e.g. want to be there, qualify, skills etc)

They asked about the QB's and showed clips of Heaps. Of course Bronco didn't even mention Heaps until after Nelson, Lark, and Munns.



Then of course they talked about missions. The guy asked about the advantage and Bronco shared his experience with him. He said when he was with Ore. St the coach wanted to know how they could beat BYU because they had so many RM's (advantage) and then when Bronco was with BYU and they played USC the coach (Crowton) wanted to know how they could win with so many RM's (disadvantage). Bronco then said it was a matter of perspective and then said the program had to work real hard to manage it. But he said they used their leadership and took advantage of the maturity by giving them a lot of responsibility. I wasn't surprised the guy tried to bring up the RM factor but Bronco gave a good rebutt to it.

I just looked on Rivals.com. They are listing the Top NCAA College's signing - in order, #1 - whatever. The Yewts are listed @ #32 with BYU listed @ #40! With the Y having zero 5 star recruits!! What happened to Jake Heaps as a 5 star. I know he signed with us, and he's a 5 star! What the?????

Reoccurring problem. Some scouting services like Heaps more than others. ESPN ranks BYU's class at #24. Scout.com ranks Heaps as 5 stars.

Yeah I saw that and then I kind of got pissed off, and then I realized oh yeah! rivals is garbage I usually look at scout.com.

Agreed. 99.9% of the time I look @ Scout.com. Now it will be 100%!

Rivals does suck! They've always favored Utah's recruits way more than BYU's anyways. Plus they somehow have some info on these kids that NO ONE in the recruiting services EVER have.



As for Jake Heaps not being a 5-star on their site. He never was.
