Iowa State's record over the past 2 seasons: 9-16

SDSU's record over the past 2 seasons: 6-18

Washington's record over the past 2 seasons: 5-19

Go back 3 seasons, or 4 seasons, and it doesn't really get much better for Washington. Having losing records every year does that to a team. Meanwhile, Iowa State actually won a bowl game last year.

Mars? Drunk tonight?

Iowa State did manage to beat Nebraska, but they lost every other decent game on their schedule, and managed just 6 wins, mostly against cupcakes. SDSU is not even worth mentioning, their schedule is a joke. 3 or 4 decent opponents and a bunch of cupcakes.

It actually matters who you play, it does make a difference in your yearly results. It's asinine to compare their records to Washington's.

You do have to give it up to Washington for playing a tough schedule. I'd like to see some SEC teams have the same non-conference schedule that Washington has had. Sark realizes that he doesn't have much of a chance at a winning record unless he dummies down the schedule. So he has started dropping games he knows he can't win...

I'd say that your assertion that BYU will "have their hands full with Polk" is not supported by facts, and that's why everyone is getting on your case.

PS-Unless you mean like have their hands full of his jersey while tackling him for losses and no-gains, then it IS supported by recent history.

I stand by my prediction, Chris Polk will get 100+ yards rushing against BYU in Provo.

But no real reasoning behind it other than "I'm a U-dub homer and I think he's really, really awesome!"

Yo, PR. As a BYU fan first and a UW fan second (I grew up the in the Evergreen State) I am hoping that the Huskies have a great year in 2010. I just hope they start the season with a loss.

But here is what you don't get, and it's fine because you are doing what a lot of BCS school fans have done here. Last fall we had a Sooner fan on here that for three weeks informed us that every player on OU's team was an All-American, including the team manager. That the no-huddle was so fast that they would have 14 plays run before the opening kickoff. That we would be crushed and sent home to momma. He wasn't the only one to display that kind of arrogance, just the most recent. It happened with OSU fans, Oregon fans, AZ fans, UCLA fans, etc. The best part is after we beat the sooners, he came on here and told us we sucked. He was such a nice guy until his team lost and then he became a total prick.

We don't get any respect from the "big boys" and we are used to it, even though we win against the "big boys" quite often and some times by not even a close margin. So please forgive us if we don't buy into the hype that Polk will dominate. He just might do that, but he might not. As of now, history is on our side.

If Polk gets his 100+ yards UW wins, if not BYU wins. To me it is that simple. The question for me is really simple: If BYU wins on the 4th are you going to become a prick like so many other fans or will you take your lumps?

University of Washington football is seriously bad. To lose all your games in one season is absolutely ridiculous. I mean seriously, every game. that is just beyond pathetic even in a 'down' year. down years for good teams means they win 5-6 games only, not ZERO games!!

byu lost basically their whole team. if anybody should be having a down year it should be us. but we are still favored to beat washington. that is because we are one of like three teams to be ranked i the top 25 four years in a row.

so yes you have some tradition but this decade has been worse than horrible. you guys at this point in time seriously suck. i mean oregon state last year was a few points away from taking the pac 10 championship and going to the rose bowl. we PUMMELED them in vegas. the game was over before half time and you dare to say that byu will always being looking up at uw or that playing in the mwc is weak compared to playing int he pac10. its laughable.

The thing that I wonder is when all these power-conference chumps (no offense PR, you are actually pretty cool - currently), will just learn to take their ball and go home. I mean, how many times do we have to beat them, if they even play us, before we get any type of credo? The only time we are going to see OU again, is in a BCS game matched up by other people, they won't play us again I promise you that. Washington backed out of the last 2 games with us (I wonder why?). Could it be that Sark can see the writing on the wall, that this is the last year in the next 3 that UW even has a chance of beating BYU? On the first game of the season, with half our team transitioning? They aren't going to get this chance again.

Yes PR, you have had a great program. Emphasis on HAD. You do not currently HAVE a good program. And I get it, I won't let anyone take our 1984 championship from us, and for a few years in the early 2000's BYU had it's lowest point it had seen in over the last 30 years. BYU and UW fans have way more in common than not. They share HC ties, they recruit from the same same areas (bastards ;) ), they are overlooked and are nothing more than an afterthought. But instead of sympathizing, all we get is elitist bull crap. And although you have been respectful, it still bleeds through. I'm not trying to open your eyes to anything on your end, because you have every right to be as "purple goggled" as you like. Maybe just explain that if you feel like you are hitting a sore spot with many of us, you are. If you feel like you are saying anything new to us, you really aren't. You and I can talk all day long, but like I tell any Ute jerkoff that comes wandering in here, "it gets settled ON THE FIELD." Numbers, recruits, history, prestige, elitism. None of that matters come Sept 4th. You guys were foolish enough to schedule us, and now you will probably lose. And either way you lose. Because if you beat us, you were supposed to, because you are in THE GLORIOUS PAC-ONE. And if you lose, then you have to find a way to excuse a loss to a bottom feeder team. And you and your elitist ways set it up that way. I mean, if and when we win you again, for the second time in two years, are you ready to concede that we are the better team?

You might be able to steal this game, but do you really get credit for beating such a "has not" team? We will never see, because you will not schedule us in the future. This time next year, you will be on someone else's chat board, making fun of mid majors, and mormons, and everyone will probably agree with you over there. You have been fun to back-and-forth with, and have for the most part kept things pretty things pretty low key, and I can respect that. But I just don't think that in the end, you get it. And that coming from a fan, to a fan, is okay. I just wonder if you and your Pac buddies will ever get it. You, like our Ute buddies up north, will just stop scheduling us for more winnable games, and just say "oh we couldn't find room". And good luck with their unbelievable elitist attitudes, that is going to be an epic match in heaven, watching your boards back and forth.

Polk had 5 100-yards games last year. In those 5 games, UW went 1-4. When Polk had 90 or more yards, went 2-5. When he had 89 or less, 3-0. Locker holds the key for UW. If he has an off days passing, UW loses.

I would expect BYU to take away his run and make him beat us with his arm. And frankly that is what I would expect a good coaching staff to do with a QB like this guy. Take away his running and make him beat us with his arm.

BYU has generally been solid against running teams. Running QBs give us problems from time to time. But like others mentioned, BYU had no problem against OU's running game. BYU should contain Polk. This is going to be very similar to when Arizona visited BYU. BYU's defense impressed me that day and they'll be the key to the UW game. If either team gets more than 28 points on the board they should have it wrapped up.

When anyone has an off day passing they lose. Passing efficiency is the single best predictor of success in college football. Since 2000, BYU has played 125 games. The team with the higer passer efficiency rating is 109-16 in those games. You throw the ball effectively, you win 87.2% of the time.

I wasn't saying Polk would dominate BYU, only that I think he will eclipse the 100 yard mark and be hard to bottle up. I think this because our Oline is improved, Polk is bigger, stronger, and faster than last year and he is hard to bring down with one guy usually.

Locker is the key though, his bootlegs and threat to run will open things up. He is not Joe Montana yet when throwing, but he is greatly improved in accuracy and decision making since the last time you played against him.

I honestly think you will be surprised by his improvement.

During the winter, most men can write their names in the yellow snow, Locker writes his name during the summer in rebar reinforced concrete.

Polk's tears can cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried, ever.

Did locker have a surgery and some bionics inserted into his arm? No? Huh. Same mediocre arm! One trick pony. Locker nor Polk couldve improved as much as Reign claims. Mental game may improve from Jr to Sr year. Talent does not.

Chris Polk once mailed a letter without postage, it still got there.

I also heard that his personality is so magnetic, he is unable to carry credit cards.

I hope he takes it easy on us. :)

Mediocre arm? Say what? I'm assuming you mean arm strength?

Odd comment, as arm strength is one of the positives all the coaches and talking heads mention. You obviously haven't watched more than a few plays if you honestly believe he has a mediocre arm. If you meant accuracy, he improved 10% under Sarkisian and finished the last two games of the year with 65%.

Case in point from someone who would know a thing or two about QB's:
